U Graduation, May 6, 2011

COMMENCEMENT, 9:00 am

 It was exciting to parade in from the tunnel and to have a sit on the floor.
This is a Where's Waldo (me)....

 

 The best part of the Commencement was the speaker, sports writer/author, Mitch Albom, who said: 

The most important thing about life is to invest in relationships. 
Don't be too busy for people that matter.
Live with your whole heart to touch the world. Seize life with love and faith.

 This is our department chair and my committee chair, Dr. Cheryl Wright. Trish Saccomano (Christian Frech's mom) is taking the photo. She's in charge of the student-teacher K-3 group, and I worked with her this last semester for part of my project.  To the left, is Dr. Marissa Diener, who was on my committee, and was in charge of the graduate students in the FCS department. Another of my favorites.

Finally receiving the diploma, well at least the cover for the soon-to-be-mailed diploma. Dr. Jessie Fan, my Family Economics professor presented it to me. It was nice to have so many professors that I knew from our department, there participating.

The second man in my life, at least for the moment, was Matt Asiata. 

The flowers in his wreath smelled wonderful.

 

The Convocation seemed late, but family was there to support. 

We celebrated with great food at P F Chang's afterwards. Yum!

School is winding down....My project presentation

On April 20th, I defended my Masters project to a roomful of fellow students and professors.

 I had to have this poster made, to help explain what I've been doing. 

 It's 3' x 4', maybe we can wallpaper a bathroom with it.

The good news is IT'S FINISHED!

Easter Sunday in chilly Salt Lake

Danny and Amanda hid the eggs and before the Snows arrived, the blue jays were snatching the small foil eggs and dive bombing Danny, or so he thought.  So we had the hunt before dinner.

Notice the dead ivy.....lots of winter kill, and we haven't had enough spring to bring back the growth.

Grandsons in the news and on the stage

Redd's TV debut! A great story about our number one tennis star.
 It was on the early news at 5 and the late news at 10.

Taylor was on stage at Olympus High School in his elementary school's production of Seusical. It was a fantastic performance, and Taylor was our favorite animal. Loved the singing!



Hershey Owens in March

Welcome, Jude & Wyatt!

Born 1 day after Kaden, February 12th

I finally made it out to Hershey, when the twins were 6 weeks old, and it was my spring break.

I don't know what was more amazing, these darling boys or the amazingly organized  Danielle.

My first time alone with the twins, while Dave, Danielle and Luke went to church.  I fed them AND took the picture. A little tricky...



The first big outing with me tagging along. We went to Hershey Zoo. I'm sure Jude and Wyatt loved it!

This is a great set-up for feeding the boys. but two hands are needed.



A proud Grandma......It's amazing that these three new cousins were born a day apart.

While Grandma was in charge, Nathan did a self-portrait...on himself

I was there for about two weeks, and loved the stay,

especially walking the boys down the lane to catch the school bus,

 playing with Nathan during the mornings, visiting with Ali, Jade and the boys,

and the views out the back door....it was a winter wonderland. Burrrr!
