A great day for basketball....

Parker is playing in a second grade league at Skyline High School.
Good shot!

Taylor is working his way toward the basket,
while his teammate Eli (Whitney's boy),
claps for the ball, following their coach's instructions.

Today at half-time of the Utah game, alumni basketball players were honored
and an All-Century Team was chosen, 16 of the greatest players
in the history of the University of Utah basketball program.
It was a thrill to see so many familiar faces and remember when...

Danielle's dad Danny, was an easy pick for the top 16.
Here he is on the floor before being announced.
Notice Reid Monson, Pace Mannion behind Danny, Walter Watts,
Josh Grant, and Doleac at the edge, to name a few in the crowd.

Danny is announced and joins Tom Chambers,
Jeff Judkin's son representing Jeff, Jeff Jonas, and Arnie Ferrin.
The white haired gentlemen are players from way back.
Big men leaving the floor: Alex Jensen, Josh Grant,
Keith Van Horn, Danny Vranes and Andrew Bogut.

The Snowmen, er boys, enjoyed the celebration, as well as the game.
Utah beat San Diego State 72-66, after coming back from a very slow start.

Worldwide Training on the Family

The training today under Elder Holland's direction was a wonderful treat, one that was appropriate for everyone.
A main theme was from D&C 52:14, where the Lord says "I will give you a pattern in all things". The Family Proclamation is our pattern for how families should be, not as the world says, but as the Lord expects. Elder Packer said the Proclamation is scripture, and should used as such, for a standard. A panel discussion followed with Elder Holland and Elder Oaks and the Presidents of the Auxiliaries, with many important insights and suggestions for all stages of family life.

President Monson concluded with three considerations for families:
1. Establish a pattern of prayer
2. Have a library of learning (Scriptures + Good Books)
3. Legacy of Love

What are your thoughts from this training?
